My only gripe with the phone is when it goes into its black screen, clock
on, energy saving mode. You can't see at a glance any missed calls or
texts!! Why can't the joystick LED flash or something. This wants writing
into the next firmware update if possible. Anybody out there got any
influence with Sony Ericsson??

Re: T610 gripe, missed calls/texts.
I think I will email customer support, although I think I already know what
they will do about it, even though "the customer is always right"!
Regarding your lost signal - there is an area on my bus route where for
about 300 yards there is no signal. I think this is due to there being lots
of trees either side. What is interesting though is it takes ages for the
signal to come back, long after where I know the signal is good again. I
haven't tried powering it off and on again to see if the signal comes back
quicker. I will do.

It only ascends for a couple of seconds normally, surely you then hear the
full volume ring?

So, go to Text-> Sent items and look at whether the sent message has a
tick instead of a stamp on the icon, or view its status.

Granted, that's the screen mainly I think

In what way? I can't see any difference except that BT is accessible on
the More menu at the top level right soft key.

Exactly - this apparently is for "safety" reasons (expect this in
forthcoming handsets)

Higher quality compents = higher power consumption = lower battery life

610 is more intuitive IMO, I think it's because the OP is used to his 68i
