HBH-65 handsfree - a problem

I bought the above this week and although it works just fine with my Nokia
6310i (which I use at work) it it a nightmare with my T610. It is plauged by
crackles and noise and it just will not identify names and voice commends
(unlike when used with the Nokia) though this could just be becasue of the
noice problem. I have tested both combinations at length and this is a
problem only with the T610. So, does anyone have any ideas as to what the
problem is and how to fix it? Any help would be most appreciated
