Does anyone know how to unlock a V300 without those mailout services.
i need to switch one from t-mobile to cingular STAT

Call TMo and tell them that you're planning a trip overseas in a few
weeks and want to unlock the phone and they'll get you the code for
free. If you've already completed your contract you don't even need a
reason. When you get the number put a non-Tmo SIM in the phone and enter
the code when the phone asks for it.

I called T-Mobile and within 24 hours they emailed me the code.
