Somewhere I thought I read that there is a difference between the SIM cards
in three-digit phones versus two-digit phones?
I'm trying to get my hands on an i710 hoping that I can simply move my SIM
card from my i60 to an i710.
Does anyone know of any problems in doing this?

There is a difference but you can use it in the new phone. The main
thing is that you will not be able to have the new feature of the newer
SIM cards. (Able to store more contacts and being able to assign
ringtones for a specific contact.)
Is there a specific reason not to switch to the new SIM card?
Most nextel stores are able to transfer the contacts from one SIM to
another. You could also even do it yourself.
1) Purchase a data cable for the new phone.
2) Go to
http://idenphones.motorola.com/iden/...w_applications
..jsp
3) Download Phonebook Manager
4) Hook the new phone up to the data cable with the old sim card in it
transfer the info to your pc.
5) Now just turn off the phone place the new sim card in it (turn it
back on) and transfer the contact back to the phone.
