i860 USB connection

I have an i860 camera phone with the USB connection cord. When I connect
the phone to my computer, nothing happens, my computer says the telephone is
not connected. The plugs on either end of the cable look good, I turned the
phone on and off still, nothing happens I cannot edit my phone book or
inport/export photographs.

Any ideas?
