Gee, I think it'd be relevant for the Nextel newsgroup too, considering
how VZW Push-to-talk competes directly with Nextel Direct Connect. I'd
bet Nextel afficionados would be interested in how well VZW PTT works,
the costs, etc., if only to compare with DC...

And those of us reading the Nextel NG have heard PLENTY about it. THe
chnology, pricing, functionality....all of it. Unfortunately, it is
usually presented with the tact of my second grader ("Nextel sucks,
Verizon PTT is going to put Nextel out of business, Verizon PTT blows
away Nextel DC", etc, etc,,,you get the point). IMHO, it looks like
Verizon will come out of this with a lot of egg on their faces, because
I have yet to see anything about this product that makes me believe that
VZ has anything close to a winner here. I'd be real interested in
seeing the cross-posting on this thread continue, and hear from those of
you that are using the product daily and can post to a NG without having
to use the following words: monkeynuts, moron, simp, dweeb or any of the
combinations containing fuc. This topic has appeared a hundred times on
alt.cellular.nextel, and every time it has disintegrated into a huge
pissing match (which is fun most of the time). It would be nice to
forget who's technology we are talking about and make a true comparison.
