Re: Your first Nextel Bill.???
It would probably help if you explained what the invoice SAID.
But my guess is activation fee's and the almighty pro-ration.

Re: Your first Nextel Bill.???
Well the first bill normally covers 1.5- months usage (take 1.5 times
monthly rate).
Add the "activation fee" $35 for starting an account or adding a new line.
Then let's not forget the taxes on your monthly service and $212 sounds
about right. When you cancel service sometime down the road, they will
probable owe you money!

Re: Your first Nextel Bill.???
Mine, which had two i60c phones, pro-rated 1/2 month plan charges, plus
full month's plan charges in advance plus taxes came to $384.00
That also included shipping on the 2 phones. I got them to waive activation
fees; and ordered through telesales. There is supposed to be a $50.00
rebate on next month's bill for the phones; at $25.00 each. My monthly plan
comes to $93.95 for a shared plan, add-on plan, nation wide DC, voice mail
and caller ID on both phones. We did not come close to using the minutes
that were paid for on the plan.
I sometimes wonder if we are paying by the word; or worse, by the
syllable...

Re: Your first Nextel Bill.???
If you want a good deal on air time, you are with the wrong provider...I
think Nextel is about the most expensive - Verizon is close second..
Direct Connect seems to demand a premium.

Re: Your first Nextel Bill.???
With Nextel, they changed thier billing practices in Febuary. They now
have you pay for your first month and a month ahead, and that shows up
as a double bill the first time.
