This is for when you get tired of Nextel sending email to your home computer
address.

The topic was about the Spam that is sent through Nextel's SMS (Short
Messaging Service), which is (cleverly - profit guided) bundled with the
Voice Mail Notification services.

For some reason, it (Spam) seems to be a Value-Added option for all new
subscribers. Makes you wonder who is selling the new subscriber list when
you receive Spam test before your first received phone call on a new
account.

All paths seem to lead to Nextel Corporate. If this is the case, they
obviously have no intention or incentive to remedy the problem. After all,
all messages coming from their customers, through their server to their
other customers sells air time; just like Amway sells soap.

Another Spam message on the home PC would hardly be noticed, doesn't cut in
on my phone calls, doesn't waste battery life and generally become a reason
to cancel services.

that seems odd when i emailed them that i was having trouble with SPAM on my
cell phone on my MOBILE to MOBILE message service. this is what the customer
service rep sent me back. so was she sending this in error? because i sent
her the right info that i was sick of spam on my cellphone.

When you go to the Nextel site that you posted, and enter your mobile email
address, it comes back as invalid. However, if you enter your computer
email address, it will accept it.

I don't think you meant to post in error, I just think that Customer Service
is doing what they have to do to keep a job; towing the company LInE.

I don't feel that they have any intention, now, or ever to limit the SMS
Text Spam that lands on your cellphone. It is too big of a revenue
producer. Otherwise, they wouldn't have bundled it with Voice Mail
Notification to further obscure the issue and make it a sacrifice of useful
services on the customer's end to prevent it.

Eventually, a couple thousand of the worst affected will get a class action
suit against Nextel, then they will magically find a miracle cure for the
problem and give everyone unlimited bonus minutes for a one time only
reward, but they will probably go the way of Unlimited Direct Connect, and
merely be unlimited until they deplete your remaining minutes for the month
that you have already paid for.

In the meantime the revenue that has been ransomed from the customer base
that didn't want to give up Voice Mail notification will more than pay for
any inconvenience that any angry customer may have caused.

It is almost boring how the flow goes.........

In Law enforcement, preying on the confidence of others is called a "Con
Game" and is punishable by law.

The Federal Reserve says the US Dollar is based by the "Full Faith and
CONfidence" of the American people (A legal Con Game)

Nextel says that Unlimited lasts as long as the time you have paid for, and
Spam is a necessary evil for having Voice Mail notification.

Who is the biggest deceiver? I think it is a toss-up between the Federal
Reserve and Nextel; but I hate to tell them - The Fed will outspend them in
the long run, and not have any on them when it is all said and done....
