WASHINGTON DC 10-30-03 According to a new rumor, a bill before the U.S.
Senate could delay the full implementation of wireless local number
portability until after the end of the year. A group of carriers and their
supports plan to add an amendment in the bill that funds the FCC that would
allow carriers to delay WLNP by several months. Lobbyists for and against
WLNP yesterday were busy on Capitol Hill trying to push debate on the bill.
The U.S. Senate is trying to wrap up all of the spending bills as soon as
possible so it can adjourn for the year.

If it's a real bill actually "before the U. S. Senate", you can certainly
do better than a rumor, can't you?

Nothing in that blogspot link you had said that there is a bill before
Congress concerning WLNP. It just gave quotes from different parties
who are concerned about WNLP. Bill S.1221 (June 10, 2003) deals
specifically with this by title, but has only been read into the
sub-committee twice, if I'm not mistaken, it has to be read three
times before any action can occur. It lists Nov. 24 as the date of
    implementation.
