My i90c can only get a few days before recharging. And subsequent
Nextel phones have not improved that much.

My wife subscribes to AT&T and cannot buy a phone that has less than a
week of standby time, so she can recharge it over the weekend.

Why can't my provider provide such long-lasting-charge phones?
    Shouldn't I move over?

Gary I think he means that changing a Service Provider ovr battery life is
not wise. Try purchasing an extended battery. You also have to understand
that Nextel phones use more power due to DC.

I mean, you are kidding about being upset at having to charge the phone
more than once a week. How hard is it to plug it in at night or in the
car. How little do you use your phone if you can go a couple of days
without recharging. with moderate to heavy use any phone will need
charging daily to avoid the letdown of a dead battery. Come on, be real!

Not true. Nextel phones use more battery life due to the phones "listening"
all the time. A draw back of iDEN.
