With the i830 coming out, I realize how small the i830 is. Even though
it's running under new schematics and algorithms, I think that the
battery life looks to be no bargain at all, because the battery is
450mAh, maybe even smaller. Any thoughts about the i830 in a first glance?

Re: My initial i830 thoughts
I think the i95 is a good phone, i've had it over a year now and i don't
plan on upgrading until they come out with a camera phone with a built in
flash or a phone with a built in MP3 player.

Putting the ergonomics aside, the i830, as well as all of the other
new 3 digit iDEN pnones, will take advantage of the new vocoder that
uses a 6:1 time division instead of the existing 3:1 that the 2 digit
(i95, i60, etc.) phones use. This will increase your chance of
getting the call thru at busy sites as long as the site was upgraded
in your local market.
Personally I'm waiting for the 900 series phone to come out with built
in PDA capabilities. I was told it should be sometime early next
year, so until then I'll be sticking with my i95.
