Just finished talking to Nextel tech support and seems that there's a
nationwide problem with porting over phone numbers into Nextel.

Apparently, many people throughout several states, including Va., Md,
Pa, NY and others, cannot receive incoming calls. They can call out
fine, even showing their correct ported over number on the receivers
caller ID, however anyone trying to call back gets a Nextel recording
saying that the Nextel number is not in service.

I've been having this problem ever since porting over to Nextel on the
    24th of Nov. It's maddening.

    Anyone else experience this problem?

No. We are in NH. My wife's wireless number was ported over from AT&T
Wireless to Nextel in 2 bus. days, and it has worked fine on her i730. She
is in Nevada now on business and her ported over number has worked fine in
calls from her there and to her there.

nope that's been checked a dozen times. Just got service fixed on one
of the two remaining phones. Seems whatever was the problem was fixed
while I was away on vacation. One more phone number to go and we'll
    be completely transitioned over.

BTW, does anyone know if Nextel is planning on going international?
We were down in the Caribbean and couldn't get a signal at all.
Pretty frustrating when even our old crappy AT&T phone could get
a signal. Couldn't even use our phones in San Juan either.
