Ok, everytime I connect up it works, but after about 30 seconds it says the
connection is either blocked or the phone has moved out of range, yet it's
witnin 30cms of the infrared ports...
Another error I get is that any file I send is avalid, but I have used Nokia
image converter to convert everything so they are valid files...
Can anyone help?
Do I have to be within a certain menu on the phone to transfer files from
the PC? I activiate the infrared and go back to the main menu screen. Is
that right or should I be in some other menu?

I've been having a lot of problems with my IR adapter on the PC to get the
Nokia 6610 to connect properly. First of all, you may have to set your
adapter to the correct maximum transfer speed (115200). You can do this in
Device Manager. Look for your IR adapter, select properties, Advanced and
set the right connection speed. I also had a broken adapter. It connected
sometimes, and then only for a short period of time. A traded it for a new
one.
