Hi,
I've got an ex reps car which has a full nokia MCC-1 cradle & kit installed.
I dumped my old phone and bought a old 7110 matrix phone because it fits the
cradle.
Just for the sake of future upgrades, is the MCC-1 cradle part replaceable
with newer nokia cradles, without having to rip out all the aerial & speaker
box etc. I just hoped I could find a simple Nokia multiplug behind the dash
and plug in a new one.
On the same note, can anyone tell me what other cradles exist and which
phones they are suitable for.
Thx

The MCC-1 cradle is part of the CARK-91 kit and like most kits it is
specific to that one and cannot be used with any other. The control box is
the HFU-2 and AFAIK that cannot be used with a different cradle.
You can use the microphone and speaker, plus the aerial, depending on the
coax connector (think it's the same for most Nokia kits) but that's about
all..! Each cradle has its own control box. The MCC-1 cradle can be used
with the following phones: 5110, 6110, 6130, 6150, 6210, 6310, 6310i.
There might be a few I've missed but think that's the majority..! Best
phone to get is the 6310i, get a couple while they're still available as
production has now ceased :-(

The CARK-91 can also be used with the 7110 ..
anything that fits the bottom of a 5110/6110 can also fit a 7110 .. how do i
know? I've got one .. works fine .. just stick your 7110 in there .. slide
can even open in it too ..

If you want polite replies and not to be killfiled, you would do well to
follow usenet convention.
Still, if you want to be ignored or treated as a troll, go right ahead :-)

Re: MCC-1 cradle upgrade to newer unit
.....Eh Eh Eh ! Calm down lads !
Yep, I did say I had a 2nd hand 7110 which is good for the car because of
the navi-roller thingy.
In the UK theres been a change of phone laws which mean you can't hold a
moby whilst driving.
Up until this point , I had an old Motorola V50 because it was tiny and the
buttons were covered by the flip.
IF I can still use the aerial/mike/speaker then thats half the battle. I
didn't want to rip out all my roof lining and dashboard just to stick a few
new cables in.
The 7110 is top for the car, but crap in the shirt pocket.I don't rate the
earpiece volume either. Do Nokia produce any smaller phones which can slip
in the pocket easily like the Motorola/Samsung jobbies, but have an easy
function for caling up numbers & making calls whilst driving.
Thx
