    Hi

I just bought a 6600 a few days ago and have managed to scratch the screen
by having it in my pocket.

The scratch isn't very deep, but its enough to refract light from the screen
and cause an annoyance while using the phone.

Can anyone suggest a fix to this other than replacing the screen cover?

    thanks

    Eyman

If it's not too deep, you could try polishing it out with toothpaste (yes,
toothpaste), but be careful as it is quite abrasive and you could end up
making the screen look like a 20 year old Ford bonnet/hood.

    Displex.

    Available from [email protected]

I have yet to try it but it seems good in theory.

As stated metal polish is the key. I've done it to many of my and other
    phones with a great result

    Cheers,

i scratched the screen on my 6600, and used Displex
to remove the offending scratch. worked quite well.

be warned though, if used excessively, it can remove
a small scratch but leave a more noticeable
    rubbed indentation on the screen.

Yep - I second that .. Brasso or brasso wool is the answer.
rub over the scratched area first then gradually increase the area so as to
not end up with a dull bit just where the scratch was.
clean and buff with a nice clean soft cloth and hold under a light to see if
scratch is still visible, repeat as ness/ry..

Get over it. A phone is a tool! Scratching it adds character. And then
before selling it just have the case changed. My 3650 has scratches all over
(not just the Xpress-on cover) and I love it! ;-)
