I have had this phone for a number of years. I have just basic service
I think. I have heard people download ringtones. I am stuck with what
is already programed on the phone. Could someone explain to me if it
is possible to download these on my phone and how to do it? ALso, is
it possible to find wav. music files on the net and convert it to a
ringtone?

Unless you give some information about what phone you have it's
anyone's guess. Which model phone do you have?

Get a new phone that has downloadable ringtones.

If your present phone don't support that function, they you'll need a
new phone.

Certainly, if the handset you choose supports WAV or MP3 ringtones..

I don't know which phone u r using, but you need at least a IR, or
data cable to connect to you phone.
