Bluetooth Nokia?

Hi forgive if this is a straight forward query, I'm looking at purchasing a
Bluetooth headset to accompany my new 7610.

I'm a little confused at the pricing of the Nokia HDW-2 Bluetooth headset &
the HDW-3. The carphone warehouse are selling them at the same price, is the
HDW-3 not an upgraded version of the 2?

Also I have read some reviews on the HDW-2 that are not very favourable,
most comment on the lack of volume! but I do like the compact shape of both.

Does anyone have any experiences of either of these?

I think the new HDW-3 is an upgrade to the HDW-2. Take a look at the

great together.

I will say that my HDW-2 is uncomfortable, quiet, and annoying to use.

I wouldn't buy an HDW-3 because of that. The design doesn't appear to
have changed.

What is interesting, however, is that I broke both the ear pieces inside
of four hours of owning the headset.

When I sent the broken ones to my Nokia Service Center in the United
States, they sent me back two new ones. And a new HDW-2.

So now I have two, but I don't use them. I think I'm liking the SE
HBH-200, but I like that style of headset.

Check out the Jabra BT200 / BT250
FARRRRRRR more comfortable than the Nokia units.

The ear clips (Nokia) are quite fragile (brittle plastic) and are easily
broken. I think an earlier poster has also made this comment about the ear
clips.

maybe in your opinion, but the hdw-3 has better talk and standby time
than the jabra BT200. Also, i've seen a bt200 and they are quite
large, no wonder places are knockin' them out cheap!

I haven't had this problem, mine are quite sturdy.

BT 250 is same as 200 other than much better battery life, i charge mine
once every 3 weeks with medium usage

I had a HDW2 and the ear clip broke so I super glueued it. It broke again
but in a different place so the plastic was obviously not as strong as the
super glue i had made the first repair with.

your opinions, i find the hdw-3 comfortable to wear on either ear.

no, but i only use one ear clip. i've got about 8 spare clips in the

You WILL need eight spares for when they break, they will!

I was not impressed at all.
Battery life on the HDW2 was crap (this has been addresses in HDW3 you say?)
The casing had a couple of splits in it (wasnt used roughly)
The ear clip was thin, flimsy and seemed uncomfortable to wear. (came with
2, large and small)
Would not re-connect to phone automatically if they came back in range (SE
HBH 15 and 60 do this ok, Jabra does it ok too)
On/Off button way too hard to use. (had to use tip of nail to get to it)
The actualy microphone didnt sit in the ear so on noisy roads you had to
hold the earpeice in with one hand

Non of these are true of the JabraBT250 and its a lot cheaper too.

Having said all that, just got a parrot Ck3100 car kit for my car so will
only use the Jabra in the transit with my works 6310i

i don't drive a car, but i don't find the headset flaps about, sits
quite snuggly in my ear and doesn't move about!

yes, the hdw-3 standby and talktime is better than the hdw-2

connects and reconnects fine with my 6600.

i have to use the tip of my nail too, true.

as i have said, i don't drive a car but i do find it sits ok in my
ear.
