Bluetooth<->Phone mic/speaker switching question (hangup required?)

I've had the Nokia 6310i for a couple of years now and thinking of
upgrading. One thing I disliked about bluetooth on this phone with my
headset (an Ericsson one of the time - having a loop round my ear looked
silly so I avoided the Nokia one) and I guess all other Nokia's (all other
mobiles?) of the time was that although switching to my bluetooth headset
from using the mobile itself halfway through a call was possible and worked
well, switching back and selecting the handset during the call was not
possible as "disconnecting" it or turning the bluetooth headset off would
disconnect and hang-up the call. I then had to call them back on the mobile.
Using a cabled headset, it isn't a problem to do this but I was wondering
whether the software has improven at all and allowed this on newer phones?

I've been a bit out of the loop regarding new handsets, and although my next
quick q would be better suited to a more general mobile phone newsgroup
audience, I'll ask it here too anyway: with camera phones, and when visiting
commercially sensitive sites that won't let you take a camera around have
people had problems with theirs? This is an unlikely scenario for me but
thought I'd ask. Would covering the lens up with thick black tape be
acceptible? It's hard to find phones without cameras nowadays that have the
other features I want (what's the logical successor to the 6310i?), and,
most important of all, a nice keypad with keys you can press without hitting
2 or 3 at once (like the 6310).

I work at a sensitive site, and you have to leave the phone at home/the car,
or drop it in with security before you enter the building.

(Black tape can be removed easily - plus I wouldn't want to tape my phone)

When camera phone first came out it wasn't a problem 'cos there were still
'nice' phones without them - suppose nowadays it's either that or very
limited options. Suppose there are phones where the camera is a 'module' -
you could just leave the camera plug-in at home then if you're still allowed
to carry just a mobile.

I wouldn't care about taping the lens up - I have a proper digital camera
for taking photos with, none of the camera phones quite cuts it if you're
into your photography. The newest ones have vaguely almost respectable
pixel-counts but still suck with regard to control (shutter speed? aperture?
No chance).
