Hello,
Does anyone have info on how to put Nokia 6310 into car kit hands free mode.
I have just had a look at
http://www.panuworld.net/nuukiaworld...iset/index.htm which has
info on the 6110, however, this does not work on the 6310.

You can only do this during or after the phone has been inserted in the car
kit, with the ignition on.
You have a new menu option available (don't ask me where, probably under
accessories, as it is a long time since I used the 6310i, unfortunately).

Re: Nokia 6310 Hands free kit info
Thanks for the prompt reply, however, perhaps I need to explain the
situation further. I have a non-genuine 5110/6110 car kit that works
well, I whish make it work with the Nokia 6310. The 5110 only needed a 10k
resistor across the inputs to make it work. Does anyone know if there is an
equivalent mod for the 6310?

He he, the 6310i doesn't work with the non-Nokia kits :-(
Had one myself (had a 6110 and a 6210 before that worked)
Don't know what Nokia has done :-/

Thanks.

Re: Nokia 6310 Hands free kit info
I just checked an old headset I had around on my 6310i.
It has a resistance value or just over 1K from "MIC / XMIC"
to "SGND" which appears to put it into headset mode.
Current flow is 57uA micro-amp when shorted directly.
"EAR / XEAR" is held to "SGND" via 100ohm when the
"hang up/answer" button is pressed. This pin "charges up"
so must be coupled with a capacitor of sorts inside the
"button controller" which is welded shut. This agrees
with the fact no resistance can be measured at these pair.
I know this isn't exactly car kit mode, but will heaset mode
do instead?

Re: Nokia 6310 Hands free kit info
Rv,
I am going to give it try this week. However, the problem I am likely to
encounter is that in handset mode the pre amp on the mic is on.

Re: Nokia 6310 Hands free kit info
Rv,
Just tried putting the 1K across the mic. Put the phone into headset mode,
however, massive feedback. I presume due to the pre-amp stage being on.
I'm thinking about putting a resistor divider network on the input stage.

Thant might work but of course you will increase the noise a lot by reducing
the signal like this, before the preamp. At least we might be going the right
direction.
