My 8850 screen goes blank occassionally and I've no clue what could be
wrong! Ah yes, I dropped it a couple of times ., but thought that
titanium case would've protected the piece .

the 8850 hasn't got a titanium case, its a 'matte aluminum covers of
the Nokia 8850 phone contain real metal'

It's a pretty common fault on the 8850. You'll need to dismantle the phone
and replace the screen elastomer (you could try just turning it upside down,
but it's hardly worth it for the sake of a couple of quid). BTW, the casing
    on an 8850 isn't titanium.

The problem you describe is a common one with both the 8850 & 8890 phones.
I've had it with both of my 8890s.

If you're lucky, replacing the elastomer ( a small adhesive strip which
connects the LCD to the phone's contact strip) should sort the problem. You
may find that applying pressure to the Nokia logo above the screen makes the
display come back on. Elastomers are very cheap - even if you have it done
for you at a service centre.

If you're not so lucky, you may have to replace the LCD - a five minute job
with a T6 Torx. I was quoted around the £25 mark by a local phone repair
tech. So either way not an expensive job for (IMHO) a great little phone.

    Hope this helps

    Steve
