    hi all

I got a brand new 6230i phone today and it's all very snazzy, etc. I also
have the PC Suite disc and have installed it. Question. Where on earth is
the USB cable I need to connect the phone to my PC? Should I have one with
the phone or do I have to buy it separately?

    cheers

Different phone packages come with different accessories. In the US, most
packages do not include the cable. If your computer has Bluetooth, you can
use that instead of the cable. Various people are selling knock-off cables
on EBay for a few dollars.

well, I think it's a bit poor actually:

    a) you don't get digital cameras without the means of connecting it your
    PC.
    b) nowhere in the manual/documentation does it say the the cable is
    "OPTIONAL"

why have I got a pair of headphones with it if I can't transfer MP3s to it?

    Meh.

no, I was sold a contract over the phone and assumed that it would all
arrive in working order and be able to do all the things the salesman
promised me. he said nothing about extra costs...

Golden rule No.1 when dealing with salesmen - never assume *anything* -
always get *exactly* out of them what you are and aren't getting for your
    hard earned money.

Having said that, a USB cable isn't exactly megabucks is it so if that's
*all* it is I think you are a little OTT with your complaint. Just buy a
cable and take your business elsewhere in future if you feel that strongly
    about it.

Complain to your salesman. His company decides what to put in the package.

Not if it's a sealed box, the manufacturers decide that.

In most cases, the packaging is done by the service provider, not by the
    manufacturer.
