    Hi,

Having a bit of trouble with my new 6280. I've not managed to get any sort
of signal, well, when I turned it on for the first time, I got a crappy 3g
signal of about 1-2 bars, this then went after maybe ten minutes, and now
I've not had any signal. It's not falling over to O2 for 2.5g either so cant
make / receive any calls. According to the coverage thing on the webbie I am
in a very good signal area. This is my first phone on 3, and my first Nokia
for a while. Are there any issues with this phone that anyone knows of on 3
(besides the random rebooting...) and anythign I can do?

Spoken to 3 and they talked through factory reset etc with no improvement.
Not got another 3g phone to stick the sim in, and have read stories about 3g
sims wrecking 2g phones? Other phone is a d500, and as it currently works
fine, I dont want to destroy it!

If its still crappy signal when I get home, I guess the phone is going
    back...

    fw version is:
    03.36
    5/12/05
    rm-78

    Thanks
    Barry

    Hi Barry,
I read on this NG or maybe uk.telecom.mobile that 3 are recalling the 6280 -
there seems to be a problem with them - shame, because they look like a
    great phone!
    Cheers,
    John.

Well, its broke according to 3 "customer services". After many days of
calling them and innumerable factory resets and battery reseating, they have
given up. They gave me a number for the 3 shop to get a replacement.
Cunningly, there's no customer services you can speak to on that number, the
CS number goes back to the other tech help desk, and you're in a loop.
Anyway, I spoke to sales, who then put me through to someone and I've got a
replacement sorted. The sales bloke and customer services woman (Sarah) were
    very helpful.

Hopefully they'll remember to cancel my number port, otherwise I'll be
    phoneless...

    Rumour. No such recall exists.
