I'm unsuccessfully trying to install the new release of Nokia PC Suite,
downloaded from the Nokia's official site. When I launch Setup a lapidary
message warn me that the uninstallation of the previous version is
impossible, offering me three options (IGNORE, TRY AGAIN, CANCEL). No one of
the three options leads to a functionally installation of PCS, due to a
misconfiguration with DKU-5 that I can't solve.
I've also downloaded the official Nokia's cleaner, used all the options
available, but the PCS installation then is affected by the same problem as
described above.
I need Nokia PC Suite to install some midi files to use them as ringtones;
I'm also trying to do that with Oxygen Phone Manager but something of
misterious avoid the installation of the midi clips.
I'm wondering in there is some software wich permit me to navigate in my
7210's folders like Nokia PC Suite, without installing this buggy software
(IMHO).
Maybe i can find a solution for my problem, but I don't know where.
Please help me, thanks.

Sounds like a Windoze problem to me. Forgive me for stating the
obvious- but have you run Windows update to make sure your OS is
up-to-date? Have you tried doing an uninstall via Windoze Control
Panel - Add/Remove Programs? Try disabling any anti-virus, spyware
detection or firewall programs you have running, and close down any
apps that might be running in the background. If none of that helps,
you might have some malware infecting your system- do a Google for
malware removal tools and give some of them a shot.
Good luck!

Don't use the version 6.80.xx
1) It's full of bugs especially during installation
2) It's not supporting the DKU-5 any more :-(

Which is the last stable version and where can it be downloaded from?
I'm having lots of problems with 6.80 and synchronizing my 6101.

Re: Problems installing Nokia PC Suite
Have you tried the most latest version 2.9.5 of Oxygen Phone Manager
II? Our program supports DKU-5 cable and Nokia 7210 phone, but the
gallery works in read-only mode in trial version. In free trial version
you can upload MIDI-tones only using 'Phone' -> 'Load file to phone'
menu.
You can register full version of Oxygen Phone Manager II here
http://www.opm-2.com/order/ for 31 E.U. euroes.
We can also offer cheaper solutions, such as Oxygen Phone Manager II
Lite ( costs 15 E.U. Euroes). 'Lite' version doesn't allow to upload
data to the Phonebook, Callregister, Profiles, Calendar, To-Do List,
Notes and JAVA applications and games, however, you can manage your
phones gallery with 'Lite' version (you can view its comparison matrix
here:
http://opm-2.com/opm2lite/compare.asp ).
We can also offer Oxygen Express ( http://www.oxygen-express.com/ )
product (20 E.U. eroes), which allows to upload files to the gallery
and make phone's backups and restore these backups to the phone.
Best regards, Maxim Vyalkov.

Way out of date and absolutely no support. Why bother when Oxygen is so
helpful for it's registered users, they even implement many suggestions
submitted.
I am personally happy with my registered version and up to date version
of Oxygen!

Re: Problems installing Nokia PC Suite
It sounds like your problem is with your Windows Installer program. Try
going to the Windows update site & applying all recent updates for that
product.
If you want a free, up-to-date version of OPM, there's loads available,
with keygens, on most P2P networks (Kazaa, Morpheus, BitTorrent etc). I
personally wouldn't recomend it, as it's big and buggy but, if they're
going to spam this forum, then they should be prepared for the fallout!

Re: Problems installing Nokia PC Suite
My sentiments exactly, if they want to spam then they have to expect to see
links to free versions of their products appearing.
