I'm wondering if the ACP12U charger was introduced later. Looking at the
manual for a TDMA 3560, I see it accepts both the 8U and and the 12U,
whereas the manul for the older 5165 lists just the 8U (of course, if the
12U was introduced after the manual was printed it would understandably not
be listed). I have a 5165 and a 12U and was wondering if I could use the
12U on the 5165. Any insight? I tried googling to find the specs on these
chargers but was not very successful. Anyone with an 8U care to type in
what the output voltage and current is? Or, ideally, if someone knows where
I can find the specs ...

    Thanks,

The "net wisdom" is that from the 5xxx series onward, any Nokia charger
having the right plug is electrically compatible:

    ACP-7 3.7V 355 mA
    ACP-8 5.3V 500 mA or 5.8V 450 mA
    ACP-12 5.7V 800 mA

Presumably the U indicates they are for the US market?

    My ACP12 states:

    Output 5.7v 800mA

    My ACP8 I can't currently find, only a couple of ACP-7s

I would try the 5165 with the ACP12 and if it goes into charging mode then
it'll be okay. If it's not happy with the faster charging rate then it'll
    do nothing.

You can easily check out compatibility on the Nokia website.

I did try the Nokia site - not sure where / how I "check out compatibility".
As previously mentioned, I've read the manual. I presume the site has some
    other tool I missed?
