I have a Nokia N80 wi-fi smart phone and would like to use my ADSL
broadband connection to browse the web on my phone instead of browsing
via expensive GPRS. I do not have a wi-fi router installed. My
question is this: could I create a wi-fi access point on my PC using a
cheap USB wi-fi dongle (eg 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless 11G USB Adapter)
and enabling Internet Connection Sharing on the PC/device or is the
only way to create the access point via a dedicated wi-fi router setup?

    Thanks for your help.

    Luigi.

Well what I say is that I got everyone working on my 3230 then found that
there was actually no point as surfing the net is far better on a computer
and anything I could download to my phone can be transferred via blue tooth
    anyway.

This may be the case, but does not answer the OP's question. The answer
should be "yes". A bit funny though that WLAN provides this capability while
it would have been possible with any BT capable phone too (with a BT dongle
at the PC, providing internet access, and it was until the BT support was
disabled as far as I know).
