All,
I dropped my Nokia 7610, and since then it displays "Phone start-up failed.
Contact the retailer." when I switch it on.
I have tried connecting to it with the Nokia PC Suite using the USB cable,
but the software cannot connect to the phone. I have reformatted the phone
(by holding down the green, asterisk and number 3 keys when switching on),
but it still gets the same message when I switch it on.
The Phone Unlocker shop reflashed the software onto the phone, but that
didn't work, either.
Is there anything else I could try, or do I just have to face the fact that
its broken completely?
Thanks
-S

I did and they will charge £50 to repair it. I was hoping someone knew of
some way I might be able to fix it myself...

Your OP didn't say you'd spoken to Nokia about the problem. It looked
like you were doing everything but.
It must be worth your while taking the phone covers off completely and
seeing if something has come loose inside. Not all of the components
will be soldered in - maybe a ribbon cable has come loose in it's connector?
