Nokia tech support helped me test my phone using Hyperterminal (still can't

I was able to get the 6340 and 6340i working as a modem in Windows XP by
modifying the modem driver .inf that Nokia supplies, I think it's
possible that their version is broken.
I had to remove the following line:
HKR,Init,2,,"AT+COS=4,,,<cr>"
from the n6340n6340i.inf file that Nokia supplies on their website.
That line is part of the init string sent to the modem before it dials
and that is where my phone was failing... my guess is that the 6340 is
just different enough to not take that pre-dial init string that the
other Nokias take.
I've attached my "fixed" version of the driver for you to install if you
would like. You must first UNINSTALL the existing driver.
