Security code on Nokia 3110

Anybody know how easy it is to get the default code for an old 3110. I
remember at one time you could fax Nokia the IMEI and they would fax
back the default code assuming its not been changed.

You could search google for it, but to save you the bother, the default code
is 12345

.... is the WRONG answer. DCT2 Nokia security codes were all different.

My 3310 was straight out of the box, brand new, and the code was 12345.

Believe there is a program called SID. Find that and it calculates the
security from the IMEI...
Yes that was DCT2 - not DCT3/4.
However, combinations of LM and Nokia Tool may help if you have a cable -
unlikely for DCT2.
NT forces security codes quite well though crap on unlocking.
3110 is so old be better to upgrade it really to a DCT3 or DCT4 - DCT2 is
single band for starters and horrible in design and looks.
The market do Nokia phones at £30 here.

Thanks all your input and glad to see you're on the ball ie no default
codes on 3110 etc
I don't wish to upgrade as I already have a 6610, it was just an old
phone I was keeping as one of my first (although not this particular
one). I will have a look around for SID but I susspect the previous
user may have changed it. Would google be a good place to try?

wow...u must be same or smaller than 20x25x12 cm (3310 box size)
