Hi, I just posted a few messages relating to the two 3650's I have, both on
trial periods from AT&T and T-Mobile. As I explained in my other posts, I
want to discontinue my AT&T service trial, and keep my T-Mo (more minutes &
unlimited GPRS $9.99). However the 3650 I got from T-Mo seems to work rather
poorly compared to the AT&T 3650. The AT&T one has better earpiece volume
and is clearer, and takes much better pictures than the T-Mo model. The T-Mo
one sounds a bit muffled. Can I just swap the SIM cards (and back cover,
branded for AT&T or T-Mo) and send the phone I got from T-Mo back to AT&T?
This way I can keep the phone that functions better. Also the T-Mo has 3.16
firmware, and the AT&T 2.54. Will the 2.54 work with T-Mo? I been reading
some of the posts and it seems people been having problems with 2.54, but I
been having the problems with 3.16 instead. My AT&T 2.54 doesn't have the
call forwarding icon, but I read I can use it manually? I probably won't use
CF on the cell phone anyways. If I need to upgrade, anyway of T-Mo knowing I
swapped or would they even care? I'm afraid if I return the T-Mo for an
exchange, I'll get another bad or even worse one, and I know the AT&T one
works great, I just want T-Mo's service. TIA,

    Dan

You should try swapping the SIMs between two 3650s now. You will find that
neither phone works with the wrong SIM.

The two phones have different IMEIs (serial numbers); your exchange would
    not go unnoticed.

Re: Anyway to swap the "insides" of two 3650's?

Thanks for the reply John. Has it been anyone's experience in this newsgroup
that when they exchange a bad phone, if it comes from the same batch or
shipment, that the new phone will be bad also? Does it work like that? T-Mo
has 2 or 3 stores in town here, would I be safer to go to another store,
maybe they have a different batch of 3650's? I'll go to T-Mo tomorrow
(Monday) and explain that I have one from AT&T also and it's louder and pics
are better, and if they can get or order me one from another batch. As I was
reading about "flashing" I thought maybe that could be done, but even if
T-Mo would do it (I know they probably wouldn't) on the AT&T phone, I don't
think they could flash the return back to AT&T. I don't want to send the
AT&T phone off somewhere to get done, so guess all I'm left with is
exchanging. Is T-Mo good with this type of thing (exchanges and support)?
    Thanks again,

    Dan
