IR connection to 6310i

I have a brand new 6310i ver 5.50 and installed the pc suite.

I have just bought an usb ir dongle and even though the connection manager
sees the phone I can't access it with any of the programs.

Also the connection drops after 10 -15 seconds then reconnects.

I can't work out what the problem is.

Any ideas

I had to download an updated driver from the irda makers site before it
worked
