how?

Re: Nokia 6560 question
You can get an infrared adapter for your PC (around $30) and then wait
for Nokia to release a version of the PC Suite software that actually
works with this phone, which will hopefully be very very soon. This will
also let you download your phone numbers from Outlook.
Keep an eye on this page... http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/6560. It
still shows the phone as coming soon, and not yet released. When it is
officially released by Nokia there should be software. You can sign up
for email notification there too.
It also may be possible to get a wallpaper downloaded via the phone
network itself, but I don't know for sure. Might not work with TDMA.

Re: Nokia 6560 question
How is the up scroll button? Does it seem to stick or rub against the
faceplate? Mine does as do a few others on HowardForums.com. Please let me
know.
Thanks.

Mine seems fine. You might want them to send you another one if it is
bugging you.
Also, I notice that on the Nokia page the phone is now listed as
officially released, not "coming soon" anymore, however there is still
no link to download the PC Synch software for it.

I got one, so far no sticking..... Seems like a nice phone so far....
Good RF, good sound, good features. My only complaint is lack of
"Normal" ringers and on the message setting, "Beep once" is all but
impossible to hear.

Re: Nokia 6560 question
NO, mine seems okay although it juggles alittle when I shake the phone.

Re: Nokia 6560 question
I'd like to download a normal ringtone, any idea where I can get one?

Re: Nokia 6560 question
Nokia's site says the 6560 doesn't have PC connectivity or infrared
transfer. Is the web site wrong?

Re: Nokia 6560 question
I just got one last week, and yes, the "up" scroll button rubs against
the faceplate a little. It does not stick though. I will probably
get some fine-grade sandpaper and sand down the faceplate a little.
In general, the faceplates look & feel flimsy. I guess that's the
tradeoff for having "Xpress-on" faveplates...as if I'd need to change
my faceplate, in a flash, for that big date tonight.

Wow, you are right -- that is really interesting. The phone definitely
has infrared, but they are no longer advertising it. I am pretty sure it
was on the page when it was a "coming soon" phone. Note that the AT&T
page for the phone still shows it having infrared.
So maybe there is going to be a substantial delay for release of PC
Synch, and they don't want to be accused of selling it as an infrared
phone when the infrared can't be used?
This was Nokia's response when I emailed them two days ago asking about
PC Synch...
We understand the importance of being able to synchronize your Nokia
6560 phone with your computer; we are happy to provide the following
information.
Due the recent release of the Nokia 6560 phone the PC Suite software
is currently not available for purchase.
Please continue to monitor our web site www.nokiausa.com for the
availability of PC Suite software for your phone.
Pretty non-committal.
As far as the ring tone, it is pretty annoying that there are no rings
in the phone that sound like a phone ringing. I would assume there is
somewhere to download some, but without PC Synch would there be any way
to get it into the phone?
I am using "Do-mi-so" which is the only one that is just a sound, not a
cheesey song. I am actually starting to like it.
Also, I can't believe how stupid it was for them to not include the
volume control on the side of the phone. You have to switch to speaker
phone or put your conversation on hold in order to adjust the volume,
because you have to use the 4-way controller.

Re: Nokia 6560 question
Just like many of you I bought a Nokia 6560 with every intention of
using it with Nokia's PC Suite. I am a little disappointed that Nokia
is not on the ball with releasing the 6560 compliant version. My
recommendation is to get all the users to keep emailing them to
express our intrest in the software. The intent is to make them aware
of user interest.
Here is the email address
[email protected]
Here is my canned response from Nokia on PC Suite for the 6560.
Dear Doug,
Thank you for e-mailing Nokia's Contact Center.
We understand you would like to know when PC Suite would be available
for your Nokia 6560 phone.
PC Suite for the Nokia 6560 phone is not currently available and we do
not have information whether there will be a version of PC Suite
produced for this phone. We invite you to visit our web site
periodically, www.Nokia.com/us, for updated information about the
release of this product.
As customers have begun purchasing the Nokia 6560 phone, our web site
has been updated and it is now listed as one of our supported phones.
If you have any further questions, please contact us.
Thank you for choosing Nokia for your mobile needs.

Re: Nokia 6560 question
I just got this gem from Nokia's customer service - it seems like they
really have no intention of releasing a PC Suite for this phone.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for e-mailing Nokia's Contact Center.
We will be happy to assist you with your software inquiry for the
Nokia
6560 phone.
The Nokia 6560 phone will not have a synchronization software, like PC
Suite, associated with this model phone.
We apologize that we do not have additional information to provide you
in
this matter, and regret any inconvenience this may cause.
If you have any additional questions, please contact us.
Thank you for choosing Nokia for your mobile needs.

Re: Nokia 6560 question
Mine does not get stuck, but it has no tactile feedback when I press UP. I
end up either not advancing, or advancing twice. I guess they don't make
them the way they used to :-(

Re: Nokia 6560 question
What other phones are people considering now that we know the Nokia will
never release the PC Suite for the 6560?

Re: Nokia 6560 question
Logomanager claims that MobiMB will connect to the 6560 to upload Java
MIDlets, color logos and ployphonic ring tones
(http://www.logomanager.co.uk/php/pro...#compatibility).
Has anyone actually tried it?
Hopefully someone (Oxygen II?) will allow us to sync up with Outlook
in the near future. In the meantime, I sent all of my contacts to this
phone by sending them as business cards through the IR port from my
3360.
