Now, THAT is a bit of decent kit, at least looking at the specs, and it IS
available in the US, even tho' the Nokia page says not.
http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/6820#phone_features
Seems to have all the beef without the fat...
POLYphonic rings, camera, color, Triband, GPRS, apps, Java, WAP ("Mobile
Internet"), speakerphone, voice commands, a full folding keyboard...
May have to check this out.
Cheers, Andy

I did a quick comparison of the spec sheets:
The 6820 apparently has:
+ Voice recorder for 1.5 minutes vice 2 minutes
+ No wallet, calculator, alarm clock or stopwatch
+ 850mAh vice 1100 mAh battery
+ Digital Talk Time up to 3 hourse vice 5 hours
+ Digital Standby Time up to 12 days vice 14 days.
+ POLYphonic ring tones vice single
+ Wireless headset
So definitely a plus. The missing alarm clock and stopwatch may be in the
digital clock screen saver.
Cheers, Andy
and of course the camera, colour, keyboard,

Quite useless then, 6230 has a MMC so can record for hours

Thanks for slogging through the comparison!
It definitely looks interesting, but I unless I'm reading your
post the wrong way, those specs look like a lot of decreases in the
things that really matter to business users -- standby/talk time, ring
tones, voice recorder time -- rather than pluses.
So that sort of leaves us with the other (after-the-sig) features, and
for those....I don't know.
I think most business users will never view a full keyboard on a phone
as a "must have" -- we don't text much, and if we have need to input
PDA stuff, we'll probably use a full-featured PDA rather than a
stripped-down version on the phone handset.
It's the same for the camera. I use a digital camera for work (site
photos, to remind me what I've seen when I get back to the office). I
sometimes need to put these in reports, though, so until phone cameras
can give me, say, 2 or 3 megapixels, I don't think I'd give up my
point-and-shoot digital camera in favour of a camera phone.
Cool bit of technology, though...

No, it's not I'm afraid.

Same as most other phones then?
The folding keyboard is ****e, it's un-natural and to use it properly
you have to either hold with both hands or put it on a flat surface.

Nokia's 7610 already has a 1 megapixel camera, so I'm sure 2-3 megapixel
camera-phones will be seen shortly.

Correct. I was being pleased only because it has the same set of things I
want, albeit at slightly lover levels... I haven't found any other (Nokia)
that has all of this.

Good points; if you're really serious about those things you'll prolly do it
with something else, but for it not to be a totally useless toy it needs
this list for me... :-)

Um, what other phones have the whole list? I've looked at a bunch of Nokias
and not found one that has it all... Maybe I'm not looking in the right
place.

Well, if they allowed camera phones, the kids could take photographs
of the pedophile.

Quite a few. With Nokia the 7250i for a start, and the majority of
phones released after this date. Even the new entry-level Siemens phones
will have all of those features.

Try taking off your 'nokia' blinkers! There is life after Nokia you

I know, my first 3 phones were Motorola. I still prefer Motorola.
All I am after is a phone with features /SIMILAR/ to the 6310i, is quad
band and has no camera. In the era of global business travel (and
business paranoia about cameras on-site) you'd expect to be able to find
one easily.

The 6310i does not have quad band. 900/1800/1900 is all it has.
