I am trying to setup my iBook 800 to work with Nokia 3650 I bought
yesterday...
I am using OSX 10.3.1 Panther.
The phone is detected and paired through a D-Link BT adaptor, but whenever I
try to browse/sync it with the iBook's address book the message on the
iBook's screen says "unable to validate device".
What gives?

I have used a 3650 (Firmware 2.54, I think?) with an iBook 600 (Belkin
F8T003 dongle, cheaper than D-Link) and iSync always worked fine... but
I don't recall whether I synced any after the upgrade to Panther. I've
also been able to send files from the phone to my G5 (built-in Bluetooth)
but I don't think I've tried syncing from that lately either. I'll have
to give it a shot.
I don't think "browse" ever worked for me.
Can you send files to/from the phone?

I cannot do anything because the phone does not even pair with the iBook
completely. I guess I am missing something... I checked the combination of
the Panther, D-link adapter, and my other Nokia phone, the great 6310i, and
it works fine.
With 3650, whenever I try to set up the phone, it keeps "gathering
additional information about your mobile phone" FOREVER!
P.S. I know the Belkin adapter - it worked very well but I gave it away when
I was in Russia last summer, since the USB port on my iBook is on the
left-hand side, not behind the lid, it was flashing bright blue light in my
eyes and was VERY distracting...

Today, I tried it on my other mac - Dual G4, also running Panther 10.3.1
The result is the same - I cannot pair the phone
