    Hi

    I am trying to use my n-gage to send a fax. I have installed the nokia
    drivers and have detected a "working" bluetooth fax port. However when I try
    to send a fax in mighty fax, all I get is this:

    Bad Response From Modem

    The program reported a bad response from the modem. This usually means the
    modem is not configured properly. It means that when send a command, the
    modem responded with "ERROR". This can happen for instance if using US
    Robotics Initialization Strings with a non-US Robotics modem or vice-versa.

    The most likely cause is that the modem is not configured correctly. Click
    the Suggest button to have MightyFax suggest configuration changes which
    might help.

    Another possiblity is that your computer is doing too much work on other
    programs during a critical portion of the fax process. The fax process is
    very time sensitive, so heavy processing while sending a fax should be
    avoided. Shut off any unneccessary programs that might be using computer
    resources during faxing.

    Another cause of this error can be interference from a program which runs in
    the background, e.g., a virus scanner, screen saver, streaming audio
    program, etc. These programs can disrupt fax communications. Correctly
    configuring the modem can often help with this, but in some cases there is
    no solution but to disable the offending program.

    This can also happen if the modem is defective, or the modem driver is
    defective or has been corrupted. If this is the case, you will need to
    reinstall the driver for the modem.

    It sometimes helps to try a different fax class - if using Fax Class 1 try
    Fax Class 2 or vice versa.

    IF sending: One customer reported that using "+1" in the fax number caused
    this problem and he fixed it by changing it to "001". The modem did not like
    the "+" sign in the fax number.

    it sounds as if you need to call your SP and have data and most importantly,
    Fax enabled on your handset., as fax and data require seperate 'invisible'
    lines. most do not charge for this facility
