    Hi,

I have done a google groups search on this + contacted service
    provide(clueless) with no luck.

I am trying to find out if Vodafone Ireland support the create e-mail
function i.e. text message to an e-mail address.

    I am using a 7210. Menu 01-1-3 (messages > text messages > create e-mail)

When I try to send an e-mail I am prompted for an e-mail server number.

I can try to send a text message to an e-mail address using 51745. I get the
message sent confirmation on my phone. However the message is not delivered.
Then I receive an error message reply on my phone from sender 51744 as
    follows

    <e-mail address> VAS: Unknown Command

I have also tried numbers suggested for other countries i.e. 0000, 1111,
    00000000 etc none work

Vodafone support gave me their IP address and tried to tell me this was the
server number. The phone won't accept it. Characters limited to numbers and
    *+pw

    Any help appreciated.

This won't work. You have to do the following:

Write a new message in the following format:

    MAIL [address] [subject] [message]

e.g.: MAIL [email protected] Test Hello this is a test

    and send it to 1745.

    Hope this helps,
    Justin.

It wants a phone number similar to an SMSC number to send to. I have asked
Vodafone Australia about this feature and they don't want to know about it
    unfortunately.

Great idea from Nokia, shame the phone companies won't come to the party and
    implement it.
