Hi
I'm looking for advice really. I recently upgraded phones to a 7250i. The
phone is lovely but doesn't have "voice activated dialling". I am concerned
now because of the change in law about using phones whilst driving. Is these
anything I can do to give me "handsfree dialling" whilst driving...
I have one of the earpiece things which enables me to receive calls fine but
I can't legally make them.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Brad

Re: Handsfree Dialling Options for 7250i?
I bought a cheap universal handsfree kit that plugs in the cigarette
lighter, it has a built in speaker, a dashboard mount for the phone and a
poxy microphone that clips on your phone. £3.99.
Then I bought a 7250i boom headset £4.99.
1. Cut the mic off the boom headset, leave some cable.
2. Cut the earpiece off the headset.
3. Cut the headset cable below the switch thingy. Bare the four wires
4. Cut the mic off the speaker unit.
5. Wire the headset ear piece wires to the speaker unit wires
6. Wire the headset mic back to the appropriate headset cable.
7. Tape up all the connections
8. Set auto answer headset on phone
9. Set the speed dials on the phone you want.
When I receive a call, the phone auto answers and i get audible sound. If I
want to make a call, (which I never have yet), i'm only 2 button presses
away.
I'm a taxi driver and think I should be exempt from current legislation. I
don't have conversations on the phone. I take a mental note of the address
i've just been told to go to.
JUST LIKE I DO WHEN I ANSWER MY TWO WAY RADIO !!!
Just like the police do with their new HANDHELD two way digital radio,
stroke, combined, mobile phones. Don't believe me. Ask a copper. !!

The facility is dependant on there being a chip in the phone to record
your voice tags. As the 7250 doesn't support voice-activated dialling
there's nothing you can do that would add that option to the handset.

Why not get a real in car kit for the phone, it is much better than the
earpiece you are talking about and a lot safer.
