Sprint's billing all screwed up. Again.

I paid my November 8th bill for $136.66.

Today on the web site, in the manage section, it says I owe 130.53 and to
    pay by 12/9/03.

When I go to "View Invoice Details" it shows my last payment was made on
Sep. 22 for 125.81 and my total current charges are 120.26!!!

My last payment was on 11/3/03 for 136.66 per my Bankcard statement.

The bottom line...Why can't Sprint get their **** together with billing and
    show the correct amounts online??????

    *sigh*

Typically, the front page info is the most up to date. When you go to look
at your bill its quite a bit behind.

Based on this info, I would say your payment was received, and your new bill
is $130.53, you just can't see the actually invoice yet. I get my bills on
line rather than mailed, and I usually don't get notice that the bill is
avail on line for a good 7-10 days after my cycle.

Yeah. I just think that it's terrible design to give outdated information.

The old website didn't show the current balance - instead it showed the
amounts from the last statement; you'd have to drill down to get the current
balance. I don't know if the new website is the same.

It doesn't, give outdated information. The front page shows the new amount,
but when you go into the billing details, it clearly shows the data of the
previous cycle, because the details have not yet become available. I think
this is simply an attempt to allow customers to know their bill amount as
soon as possible. I agree that it can be annoying if you want to pay
immediately, as you can't see the details of what you are paying for until a
day or two later. Bottom line is, don't pay until the details are available
(for that fact, a financial advisor would tell you not to pay until the due
date) so that you know what you are paying for.

Sort of, it may. On the first 2 or 3 days of a billing cycle it will not show
the new information, and then for another 2 or 3 days it will show the new
information, but not have the "current" invoice to download. Phone purchase
costs and credits will sometimes show up within hours, rather than at the start
    of the billing period.

Just a minor problem, except by not posting those facts clearly on the web
site, SprintPCS causes misunderstandings and generates many support calls, that
could be avoided, if folks knew thse minor gotchas.

Compare and contrast with posting of Minutes used, which also has gotchas,
there Sprint lists the factors that cause apparently misleading results.
