    Hi everyone:

Yesterday (12/1/03) at about 6:15 PM, I tried to dial Metro Taxi to order a
cab (I was at the grocery store with three big bags of groceries), but for
some odd reason, I couldn't connect via normal PCS Service. Tried twice and
was redirected to Sprint Analog Rroam Service (even though I was only a few
    blocks away from my home).

The first time I was redirected, I just decided to wait a few seconds to see
if moving my physical location would help (I was at the front of the store).
It didn't (I only moved from one side of the doorway to the other). The
second time I was redirected, I went ahead and placed the call anyway.

Was it just me or did anyone else notice this too?

Also, I've noticed that the Sprint PCS Network sometimes doesn't pick up on
the calls I'm trying to make even though I have a strong signal from the
antenna. It eventually times out and I usually wait a few minutes to try
again. Is anyone else getting this too? It seems to be an intermittent
    thing.

Cheers for now & Happy Holidays :-)

Patrick, could be a number of factors why the signal crapped out ... They
could have been working on the tower in your area, it could be cell
breathing (where there was a high number of people accessing the tower right
then), or it could be your phone.

Which phone model do you have? I ask this as some of us on this newsgroup
experienced those same circumstances with our Samsung 3500s & 8500s. When
you have the time, take your phone to your local SPCS center and have them
    run some diagnostics on it.

Have notice the same essential problem in at least two towers in east
    tn..Sometime won't receive a call, other times won't make a
call--usually for a peroid of a few hours, more common late at
night--assumed was tower work--but is frustrating--these are two
isolated towers, and not both at the same time--phone(s) 4900 and 5400
