I have been a t-mobile customer for the past 4 years because I could travel to
Asia and use a local sim card in the phone.
Now that I can keep my number I want to drop t-mobile here in the USA.
How is the quality of service Sprint in NYC and more specifically in south
Queens.

Can't really talk about specific localities, but I brought a friend
of mine into Sprint about a year and a half ago, and he's been extremely
satisfied with the service. He's located in the Union Turnpike/Utopia
Parkway area, but he travels all over the borough for work.

PS: He has my old Sanyo 4700, which is an excellent phone. His wife has my
old Sanyo 4000, which is 2G only. I don't think she uses it much, and so I
can't say what her experience is. But as I say, he's expressed his
satisfaction to me many times, even bragging that he was able to get signal
when his sister-in-law (at&t) couldn't.

Re: Sprint in Queens NY, any good?
I'm in west Queens, Maspeth and Middle Village area and I have no problems
with Sprint. I have a Sanyo 8100 now but when I had my Samsung N400 I didn't
have any problems either. A friend on mine lives in Staret City in Brooklyn
and he has problems getting a signal but as soon as he leaves that area he
has no problems at all. I hope this helps you out a little bit. I been
basically all over the area and I don't have any problems getting a signal.
The only time I ever had a problem was when I went up to Chappaqua, North of
Tarrytown. I was even in Sears yesterday on Queens Blvd and 63rd Drive and I
think I was the only one in the store that had a good signal to make and get
calls. My dad was with me and he has ATT prepaid. He couldn't get out at
all. There were also a few other people that tried to make calls around me
and they were having a hard time getting out. Now, that might be because we
were in the middle of the store, by the watches, but I got a perfect signal
on my phone and was able to call people. My mom has Virgin Mobile but she
left her phone in the car. I would have liked to see what kind of signal she
got because Virgin uses Sprint's network. I don't know what, if any, mobile
service Sears sells but that might have something to do with it too.

Re: Sprint in Queens NY, any good?
I'm in Flushing and work at JFK Airport. My srevice is excellent. I'm also very
happy with my service when I travel. Many of my coworkers have Sprint and are
quite satisfied as well. Just wish that Sprint Motorola V60c would come out
soon.
