I have been using Verizon cell phone as a modem for my laptop computer while
traveling. Just moved to Amarillo which Verizon does not serve. My cell
phone is a v120e Motorola. I used Verizon's mobile office and software to
connect the two. Is anything like this possible with Sprint?

I used to use my Motorola Timeport phone with serial cable to hook my laptop
up and get on the internet. Slow but it worked.

Re: cell phone as modem?
Yes, you can do this. Get a Vision phone with Vision service. Then you can
get a data cable and software from Futuredial.com or Radio Shack if they
have them in stock. The data cable will connect to USB port on your latptop
and you will get speeds up to 115 kbs. Sprint won't tell you this, but
usage is unlimited, but you don't want to use it too much this way becase I
think I have read about sprint having the right to cancel your service if
you abuse this.
But if you want to be able to use your connection alot, I would suggest that
you get a Data Connection card from Sprint and pay for a data plan.

Re: cell phone as modem?
Will the phone and data cable I already have for Verizon work on the Sprint
phone? What user name and password and phone number do I use to connect?

Well, your phone would work on SPCS's voice system, if you were roaming on
SPCS. As to any data, no ... and if you were thinking of porting your number
to SPCS, you would need to buy a new phone, as SPCS will not sign up a
non-SPCS branded phone.
