so what? it COULD be unlimited free usage if it was on a Sat or Sun or
after peak times....so i guess not ALL minutes on holidays may count toward
your anytime inute total on your plan.....

True, but I was simply pointing out that such minutes could be used on=20
New Year's Day, and, thus, not all minutes would count against peak.

    But, again, true point.

Keep in mind that some time ago, Sprint began demanding an agreement renewal
in various circumstances, such as changing a service plan; and the set of
such circumstances has continued to increase. (For a while, Sprint was
reportedly demanding an agreement renewal simply to perform a phone
replacement a.k.a. ESN swap.) So even multi-year customers often end up on
a new Advantage Agreement, because when caught in a given circumstance they
    don't see any reasonable alternative.

Also keep in mind that aside from Advantage Agreements, the carrier-locking
of phones also discourages movement between carriers. A family of four who
has hundreds of dollars invested in nice phones cannot economically just
discard them all and buy new ones on another carrier (or downgrade to the
entry-level free phones that the other carrier might offer).

They did? I've changed plans midstream in several AA time periods, without
having to extend my contract. The only time I had to do another AA was when
I added the F&CA option to the account Dec / 02. I do seem to remember
where SPCS required a new AA on a promotional plan, on when doing a
retention deal where SPCS offered more than what was advertised.

Yes, but I don't believe this point should be included in this discussion.
Each company offers phones from different manufacturers, which another
company can't and won't support. Even on those phones that other carriers mi
ght carry, they have different firmware / software than the originating
    carrier.

F&CA option or you switched to the F&CA plan? I added the F&CA option
onto my account with no plan extension.

The option. At least that's the only change I can think I did just before
Christmas/02, which triggered a new AA.

I didn't think they offered F&CA in 2002. And when they first started
offering it, I thought they only offered the F&CA plan. It wasn't
until just a couple of months back that they started selling it as an
    add-on instead.

IIRC, it was offered in a few selected markets, including Charlotte, NC back
    in Dec.

Now, in saying all that before, I just did a Google search on my Dec/02
posts, and it wasn't adding F&CA as an option which triggered a new AA. It
was changing to the promotional plan I'm on now.

    Hello Thomas;

What you describe are judgement calls on your part. They're judgement
calls I don't happen to support. To assume that he is here to stir up
trouble, simply because he tends to post negatives about Sprint, implies a
level of attachment to Sprint that would tend to make people question
    impartiality.

that you can't possibly know about Phil through this medium, as for
friendly reminders, he comes off much friendlier than the anti-phil crowd.

Not at all on my part. But If I were to follow the same set of standards
you apply here then you would have to admit that that's what was done to
    Phil on the holidays threads.

Phil has no control over you that you don't give to him. If you're raw
it's because you freely choose to feel that way.

I can compare anything I like. The intent of the comments was to lament
the fact that the European style plans aren't available here. Or at
least the better aspects of them.

Well that's certainly news to me. Do you have a link to the details? Or
is that free incoming calls on their walkie talkies?

I know, at one point I had the 7. The industry standard here now seems
    to be 9 though.

Sure there are trade-offs to everything, but I would really like to see
that free incoming calls, and standard 6 nighttimes, incorporated into
    the plans as standard here.

And I certainly thank you for that Chris.

As a matter of fact now that I went to take a look at the site I do
remember seeing that plan. They have unlimited anytime and night time
minutes which technically isn't the same as free incoming calls. And like
most cell company plans wading through them to get to what is and isn't
covered isn't exactly what I would call "easy". Just look at sprint with
    it's vision addons.

Unless you've got another plan in mind I thing we should be comparing
apples to apples and not apples to oranges.

My understanding is that Europeans have the incoming calls free as pretty
much standard on all tiers of service not just the most expensive plan.

Chris I respond to people based on the name of choice when they post. In
your case Chris. I you would prefer I respond to you as something else
than start addressing your posts as someone else.

I imagine that someone might be interested in this fact if they had a
predeliction for disrespecting people sure. I could change tomorrow my id

Chris Russel for that matter? We have nothing but your assurance that that

Since posting as SprintingforService here is far more descriptive of me
than posting as Chris Russel here is of you I don't really see what your
    problem is with it.

Anonymous posting is common. If you choose to ascribe a negative to it
that says more about you than me.
