What is the best way. right now I have my parents living with me.
Very old and don't use a phone much but they still want to get around
some and I keep giving them my phone incase of emergencies.
I am on a $29.99 fixed 400 min anytime plan.
get a plan with 2 phones (is this the same number or 2 numbers)
add another phone to this plan. (I never go over)
what is the cheapest way to get 2 phones on sprint?
thanks big time I need some ideas

Have you considered looking into a prepaid account through Virgin?

Prepaid is too cubersome. You have to keep track of the time to replenish
the account and might cost more than a regular cell phone. If you have to go
with prepaid, Virgin is possibly among the best deal. I would consider
"add-a-phone" to the same account (you would get a separate phone #) if it
costs $10 a phone. AT&T and Cingular currently have that kinds of deal.

For $7 a month you could get an account with http://www.ecallplus.com/
Its prepaid. You have to consider adding a phone on your account could
totaly jack up your account forever, besides resetting your accounts
contract. Sprint reps are known for forever jacking things up with a "No
go back to your old plan" deal.
OR you could use an unactivated phone laying around. Just let em go to
operator credit card calling. So what if it is only 3 times a year

Just buy another phone and add it on to your current plan for $20 /
month. I am not sure if you can add it on to a 400 minute plan
though, as they don't offer those plans any longer. I thought they
had a minimum requirement for add-a-phone to be the 500 minute plan.
That will put you to at least $65/month after the add-a-phone.

That's why I mentioned the Virgin pre-pay option as it's more cost
effective, if they don't make a lot of calls.

SprintPCS family plans are expensive. When I got mine a few years
ago I was told the minimum family plan is $39.95 per month plus
$20 for each added phone. You can do much better by getting a
family plan from Cingular.
