Phone stuck in data mode!

Every time I get a text message, I can't make a call because my phone says
I'm in data mode. I called Sprint and they had no idea what I was talking
about (I can't blame them, they're just phone jockey morons). Is this a
known issue? My phone is a Samsung camera phone(VGA100 maybe, don't
remember).

I don't believe anyone has reported that here yet. What happens when the TM
is on your phone and you hit the end button? Does it revert back to the
standard screen? If it doesn't, you might want to take the phone to your
local SPCS store and have the phone tested.

When I press END, it goes back to the main phone screen where I try to make
a call again, and then I get the same error message. The only way out of
this is to go into the internet mode or to pull the battery.

Sounds like you might want to go to your local store in Raleigh (?), and get
it tested ...

This is a known problem with the Samsung VGA1000 / a620. I experience
this anytime I receive a 'Short Mail' notification, or any text message
that is greater than about 80 characters. If I launch the browser then
immediately press "end" I can then make and receive calls. There is
supposed to be a firmware update soon to fix this problem. Let's hope so.
