    Hello,
A few weeks ago, my trusty Kyocera 6035 bit the dust. The SprintPCS
insurance carrier sent me a Samsung i500, but didn't send the software or
cradle, since those are "accessories". Accessories? How am I supposed to use
the thing? They also sent me a charger that didn't fit. Dubious phone
support, and a corporate shrug of the insurance company's shoulders later, I
bought an aftermarket charger, which arrived several days before a second
charger (also non-working) arrived from the insuror.
SprintPCS says I can take my old Kyocera cradle to any PCS store and get the
new cradle and software from them. None of the Sprint stores I've been in,
in two states and Washington DC, have the i500 stuff. The clerks look at me
like I'm trying to rob them. So I still can't synch my i500, and I still
don't have the software or the cradle.
Is it me, or am I using the wrong cellular carrier? Should I have to put up
with this just to get a working Palm phone?

    Thanks for listening,

    Dale

Although there is a certain "buck stops here" kind of responsibility that
Sprint might have, the insurance policy, as you probably know, is handled
by another company and you should try to hold them responsible.

On the other hand, a I500 is worth at least-5 times a 6035 and therefore I'd
say you got a great deal already. If I could have traded in my old 6035 for a
I500, I would have done it in a second... It won't take much to get the whole
thing working. You can always pick up a USB sync/charging cable from
www.boxwave.com for $16. And a useable charger for $5-10. So, while Lockline
should get you these things, it is not a disaster to handle it yourself
either. Just a $16 investment now gets you USB synching and charging
while you wait for Lockline to make good...

Thanks, Daniel. LockLine has made clear that they're not going to do what's
right. And truly, I loved my 6035. While the i500 is neat, it isn't really
functional without a cradle, and the synch software is tailored to the
Samsung, so my Boxwave (yes, I have one) can synch some things, sometimes
    with generic Palm 4.1
Yes, I can hold Sprint responsible -- they're the ones who contracted with
Lockline, and should either do right or make THEM do right. I'm pretty sure
that's why I pay them, you know?

I'll do that, thanks. Who is he?
