Sounds like a defective phone. Is the "Speaker" button stuck in the down

It keeps sticking and will constantly send out every word you say
because Sprint is secretly in league with the Government to spy on all
it's customers . Just Ask Philly boy, it's only one item in a long list
of 'secret' things Sprint is working on to take over the country, screw
it's customers and make it impossible to get a good taco .

Seriously, it sounds like it may be defective, take it to a PCS store
    and have them check it.

SETTINGS - DISPLAY - LED controls what color you get.

    maybe
SETTINGS - Sounds - Receiver Vol. should be set to a lower number
