    Hi all,

Really sorry if this has been covered somewhere else. I have searched all
over here and Google groups and can't find it covered anywhere.

Anyway, I just got a Sanyo 5500 to replace my 5300. I was told by the rep
in the store that she can't transfer over anything but the phonebook
names and numbers. This sucks for me because of the 50+ pictures I have
    asssigned to incoming callers.

It looks like I may be able to get the USB cable and BitPim to retrieve
them, but before I did I wanted to make sure that this would work with
    the picture wallet specifically.

If so, where can I get the best deal on the cable?

Thanks a lot for you help, and if this has been covered before just link
    me to the right place.

Some people have reported getting the cable from on online source for $9
plus shipping. Some of those folks have also had problems with their cables.

Easiest and best bet is just to go to Radio Shack, and fork $20, as you get
a good cable, and you get it quickly. As for BitPim, I haven't had much
success connecting my 5300, and transferring pictures / screensavers/ringers
to and from the phone. A far more featured program, DataPilot is featured by
    Susteen http://susteen.com/productfeatures.htm .

Another idea is if all those pics are in your SPCS picture vault, you could
download them to your phone and assign them to the appropriate person.

It should, and bitpim gets better every two or so weeks. Plus, as you know,
it's free. Datapilot, while cool looking, is easily replaced by bitpim. I'd
in no way recommend the other product out there, the company is too hostile.

gomadic.com --- $14 or $15, and it charges the phone. they honor their
lifetime guarantee (1 of 10 cables failed after 18 months, had a replacement
    the next day).
