cellphone spam - how to change email address?

Well, it had to happen sooner or later, but the spam is hitting the
cell phone on a regular basis now.

I get the alert that I have pcs mail, check my mail, and it's spam.

It wouldn't be so bad, but each message hits off my "allowance", and
pretty soon I'll be paying overages on that.

I've looked online, to try to change the email to something not as
easily generated by the spammer's autogenerators, but can't find
anyway to do it.

Can customer service do it? Is it possible at all?

For a Wireless Web phone, no. Email service was tacked on a freebie=20
service, and has some of that functionality not enabled. PCS Mail=20
for the 8500 (I think that's the phone you say you have) provides a=20
one-time-only option for creating a PCS mail name. And any data=20
support tech who writes a trouble ticket to get it changed will get=20
the ticket rejected.

I'd suggest that Deb go into her settings, and turn off email notification.
Now, with regards to my prior complaint about spam on the SPCS email
servers, I use to get over 150 spams a week. It appears that SPCS has added
a spam filtering program to the email server, as I'm only showing 6 emails
after a week. All of them are spams, however, when looking at the subject
lines, they all look legit.

So, kudos go out to SPCS to finally fix the amount of spam I was receiving
on a weekly basis.

The problem is, that with the travelling I do for business, I use it
for notifications from the airlines about my flights. So, I can
either do without the notifications, or pay for the spam when it
crosses over my 50 per month allowance.

On what freebie service? I pay $5.00 per month for Wireless Web, for
an allowance of 50 messages per month. Each of the spam messages I
receive on the phone pings out one of those 50.

No, I have the Samsung SPH A400

So, I can't change the email to something less "guessable" by a
spammer, and unless I turn off the feature entirely and give up the
main reason I have it, which are the airline alerts when I travel,
will be stuck paying the overages on the spam.
