Thinking of switching back to sprint and I am wondering what is
currently the best phone with regards to voice quality? Most calls will
be in NYC area, but I occasssionally travel...

Sanyo phones tend to be the best in signal and voice quality. The
RL4920 gets high marks often.

I don't think much of the sound quality (incoming or outgoing) of my
wife's Sanyo 8100 (signal is good, though). I've been impressed with
the sound quality of Sprint's Nokias (I've used the 3585 and 3589, both
discontinued).
I think my previous Samsung A620 (VGA1000) sounded better to my ear than
my current A680. I don't know how I sound to others on either of them.
