Is there anyway to set the time on this phone?
I haven't found any place in the menus that have the date or time selection
other than setting
your 'World Time" location or DST (Daylight Savings Time)
Thanks in advance.

As the A740 is a CDMA phone, the time is set by the network. On power
up, the phone synchronizes itself to whatever the local cell tower says
is the correct time (which in theory is supposed to be synchronized to
GPS or an atomic time reference, meaning the time given will always be
the "correct" time). I'm actually surprised the phone has any sort of
time zone or DST settings, as those are also supposed to be
network-controlled.

I own a VGA-1000 and a 660 and they let you set the DST too. The Samsungs
are the only brand of phone I've seen that do. Might be useful for places
that have weird DST rules.

Thanks for the info.
It would also be useful to be able to set the time 'forward' for those
people that are constantly running late.
Guess my wife will always be late (which is always anyway).
