I have been unable to install Voice Command 1.5 to my sprint 6700 phone with
Windows Mobile 5.
I get an error message during the download stating that I cannot install
into the "" directory, and that this program must be installed in the main
memory. The problem is that this is not an available option. It seems the
installer want to install in an unknown directory?? Could this be a problem
because I have Windows mobile 5, and not windows mobile 2003?
Any suggestions,
Thank you.

I thought Voice Command was a service you could use with any Sprint
phone, not something you had to install.

Voice Command is an individual program. I beleive that for some
manufacturers, it is embedded in WM5, but I am not sure. My Sprint 6700 does
not come with voice command.

Yes, this is a known installation Wizard bug.
Worry not.
Just hit "install" or "okay" when it says it needs to install to the ""
directory.
It will install itself in main memory correctly.
Voice Command works great on WM5. The installation wizard just has a
syntax error.

"I thought Voice Command was a service you could use with any Sprint

Confusing, eh? Sprint has a voice dialing service that resides on
their network.
But Microsoft also sells a software "Voice Command" that resides
directly on the phone. This lets you open programs, look up contacts,
check system status, and all kind of nifty things by merely talking to
your smartphone.
It doesn't come with WM5, you have to buy it for about $30 extra.
Most people find that it is well worth it.
